I'm 26, male, American, living in the U.S.A.

I am currently uneducated. I am married with two children. I work as a computer programmer for a consulting company called Perot Systems.

I started ray tracing in the early '90s with a program called DKB Trace, which is the predecessor to POV Ray. Although I have done this for a long time, my lack of math skills prevents me from breaking the "intermediate" barrier.

I got into ray tracing because of my interest in both art (at which I used to be fairly talented) and computers.

I enjoy building other kinds of models. Old 1:72 scale model aircraft and wooden period ships are my interests right now.

I'm a Linux enthusiast. I am interested in MIDI synthesizers. I like sci-fi and fantasy novels. I play trumpet. I'd like to learn guitar and piano, but don't have time. :)

Programs:
+ POV-Ray (Intermediate)
+ Spatch (Intermediate)
+ Moray (Intermediate)
+BMRT (Beginner)
+Ayam (Beginner)
+XFig (Beginner)

Strengths:
+ Image composition
+ CSG
+ Primitives
+ Scripting & Modelling

Weakness:
+ Consistency
+ 3D Mathematics
+ Procedural textures
+ New ideas

Working On: Model steinway & period ship ideas.

Objective: Better understanding of mathematics and its applications in ray-tracing.
